Pitching

Club face always points to target.
Swing equally back and forward – smooth movement.
Club swings along shoulder line, underhand throwing motion.
Narrow open stance and gripped down.
Weight stays on left.
Cock wrists easy on backswing.
Open club face for height.
Hit ball clean and low through ball, turn belt buckle to target on follow through.

Location of spine - Short pitch - Spine back, open stance, ball goes higher and stops quicker.
                             - Standard pitch – Spine over ball, stance open.
                             - Long pitch – Spine forward, stance not too open, ball goes lower.

Accelerate through each shot. Swing speed determines length.

Practice

Make little golf swings

Think "shoulders" to start swing and "hips" to start the down swing.

One swing, six clubs, six shots

To hone the proper technique, find a practice green with flags of varying distances and take all of your wedges and scoring irons (8- and 9-iron). You should hit 10 balls to each target with the goal of getting every shot within 5 feet of the pin. Remember to use the same basic swing every time but with a variety of clubs. To do this drill successfully, you'll have to pick your landing spots carefully and be conscious of how much roll you get from each of your short-game clubs.
